Bharati Bhawan was established in 1943 by Ram Mohan Bose, who wanted to publish high-quality books at affordable prices. Starting from Patna, Bharati Bhawan gradually spread across India, and now has offices in New Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru (Bangalore) and Noida.

Bharati Bhawan publishes school and college textbooks in English, Hindi and Bengali. It publishes books for state school boards and for the national boards - CBSE and ICSE.
